  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Drain and set aside.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté for 5 minutes until soft.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  • Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and sugar (if using).
  • Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Toss the cooked spaghetti with the Bolognese sauce or serve the sauce on top.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
